Privacy Policy
A 90s Summer is published by Broad Eye Solutions LLC. This page explains what we collect when you use a90ssummer.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
Analytics and attribution. We use PostHog to see which pages and stories people read, listen to and watch, and where visits come from: the site that sent you and any campaign tags on the link you followed. PostHog keeps a random identifier in your browser (a cookie and local storage) and receives your device and browser type, the pages you visit, what you play on them, and your IP address, which it uses to estimate a rough location. We use it to decide what to write next and where to share it, not to show you ads. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or you opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share page, it does not load at all.
Advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We use the Meta pixel to measure the ads we run on Facebook and Instagram and to show our stories to people who have already visited. It tells Meta which pages you visit, along with your browser and device, your IP address and Meta's own cookies, and Meta may link that to a Facebook or Instagram account you are signed in to. Meta uses that information under its own terms and privacy policy. Like our analytics, it does not load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or you opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share page.
Your email address, but only if you give it to us: by signing up for email, or by writing to us. We use it to send what you asked for, the newsletter and the occasional note about new stories, and to reply. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.
Order information, if you buy a book. Payment is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number. We do receive your name, email address, phone number and shipping address, the book, the quantity and the amount, so we can have the book printed and delivered, answer questions about your order and put things right if something goes wrong.
Who else handles it
Only the companies that run the site for us: PostHog (analytics, stored in the US), Cloudflare (hosting and delivering the pages and media), and our email provider when we send you email. They process it on our behalf and not for their own purposes. Meta is the exception: it receives what the Meta pixel sends, as described above, and uses it under its own terms.
When you buy a book, Stripe processes the payment, your name and shipping address go to the company that prints and ships it, and the order is recorded in our Google Workspace account and emailed to us. Each of them handles it only to fill your order.
What we do not do
We do not sell your email address. We do not share it with other publishers or list brokers.
How long we keep it
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in the analytics account.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email, ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have a right to opt out of targeted advertising — see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Write to [email protected].
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
